Monticello

    1. There are a limited number of tours to the upper floors each day. We probably should of spent the extra cash to see that part of the building, but there was still plenty to experience.

I think there is a ticket options where you can still wonder about without joining the tours.

      Have a great weekend.

  1. Thank you for the tour of Monticello. I visited there many years ago, and it is a very interesting place. It was nice to be reminded of the place. Yes, it does seem he was full of contradictions – like many of us humans are. I also seem to remember from my visit that he once said, slavery was an issue (or some other similar word) for the next generation to solve. I recall the place was beautiful – but built by slave labor – and I was impressed with the artifacts from the Lewis and Clark expedition. Great post, as always! Thank you.

    1. Yes, the tour guide mentioned the quote about slavery being the next generation’s problem. He also said that Jefferson proposed that all newly acquired lands, which I assume means the Louisiana Purchase, not allow slavery. Thanks for you kind words. Have a great day.
