  1. Enjoyed reading your article! My family and I visited Cades Cove for the first time in ten years, and wondered what happened to all the deer. They’ve been replaced by a multitude of turkeys. And of course, we saw more bears than before. Now it all makes sense. Thanks for this.

  3. Once I finish my chemotherapy/radiation in a few months, I want to go back to the most beautiful and peaceful place I have ever been……Cades Cove. Years ago, I went there every chance I got (from Michigan), but it’s been several years now. Just need to be there again!

    2. I could have written this. For many years we vacationed at Cades Cove. I am 75 years old and forget a lot of things but never our wonderful times at Cades Cove.
Thank you so much for your article.

  4. I am sorry you got sick. Covid? In any case, you made the best of it. We are going to Smoky Mountains NP next April. We hope to visit Cades Cove, of course. It will be our first visit. It is nice to read about the Cove’s past and its present. Your many memories are a treasure, and your pictures are beautiful, as well. Looking forward to your next post!
