The excitement is building. The time to go is near. Plans are being finalized. Reservations are being booked. There is a lot to consider when leaving your house for an extended period of time. There’s house-sitting, lawn care, mail collection, banking and bill pay, and the list goes on. There is so much to do. I’m not sure we’ll get it all done in time. We’ll sit down today and go through the checklist.
Our plan for this summer is a four month trip. That should be long enough for us to find out if we enjoy RV travel. Our long term plan is to live in the RV from March through October. We have no plans to be full-timers. Most full-timers seem to travel south for the winter. We live in Florida so that will be home during the winter. I’m not sure what style of RV travel that’s called… part-timer, half-timer, some-timer, but it is what appeals to us.

I’ve been busy in the workshop making a toy box for my granddaughter. We will be celebrating her first birthday on Saturday. I made a toy box for her sister when she turned one and now I built one for Eliza. I built it to last and it should be something she will use for years to come.

Grammi has been busy too. She’s been like a little bee, buzzing around moving things from one place to another. I think she’ll have every nook and cranny packed before we head out. She has been going through the pantries in the house too. I suppose she doesn’t want to find a sack of rotten potatoes when we come back home.

I sit here at my laptop with a hot cup of coffee looking across the lake behind our house. The radiant sunrise reflecting off the calm waters is a sight I’ve seen many times and admittedly take for granted. It’s the start to a new day. I have much to do. I’ll try to remind myself to not get too stressed and enjoy the process of preparation. Oh yes, the excitement is building! Let the adventures begin.
This sounds so exciting! I’m very thankful that I saw Grammi’s post on facebook about your camping. That lead me to here. Happy you two are able to go on a long adventure. Selfishly, I’m hopeful that your adventure will bring you back to Colorado. Be safe and I look forward to your writing.
